A timeless design with elevated craftsmanship, the Gene Rope Leash is handcrafted in our New York studio using marine-grade rope, solid brass hardware, and refined details made from premium Horween leather, a material known worldwide for its unmatched quality and heritage.
Each leash is hand-spliced to withstand hundreds of pounds of pull and finished with traditional nautical whipping for added strength and durability. The solid brass lockable carabiner ensures safety for dogs of all sizes, while the Horween leather accents soften and age beautifully over time, gaining character with every adventure.
Founded in 1905, the Horween Leather Company has spent over five generations perfecting the art of leather tanning. Committed to craftsmanship over shortcuts, Horween uses time-honored methods and uncompromising ingredients to produce leather that blends tradition with innovation. Their leathers are still made by hand today, offering an unparalleled mix of quality, consistency, and authenticity.
Each leash includes an individually numbered brass tag, representing your unique rescue story and helping us track the number of animals we’ve helped find loving homes.
